It's (NOT) the End of the World as We Know It

If you are reading this right now, then you probably are on of the people that knew the world wasn't going to end just yet. So today is 12.21.2012, otherwise know as Dooms Day 2012 but nothing has happened and nothing bad is going to happen to the world today.

In other news, the music video for the K-Pop Star Psy's "Gangnam Style" has become the very first YouTube video to hit 1 Billion (Yes, the one with nine zeros) It only took 160 days – give or take a few hours which that works out to 6.25 million views a day, 260,416 an hour, 4,340 a minute and 72 a second. Congratulations to Psy and let's see if his video can make it to 2 Billion.

And for your listening pleasures, here is R.EM.'s "It's the end of the World as we know it (and I Feel Fine) "

Apple Gift Card RANT

Finally the best time of the year is officially here, The Holiday Season. For many people, it can be a pain to decide what to get your friends or family. So most people would go for the traditional gift card to give to someone as a gift.

However if your recipient is heavily part of the Apple Ecosystem, where they only buy products from Apple, buy media from Apple iTunes, they already have a iPhone, iPad or another iOS device that can access the Apple App Store. Your first instinct would be to buy them a iTunes Gift Card, but they will realize that they can't buy apps for their iPhone with the iTunes Gift Card you got them. So then they wished you had got them a App Store Gift Card instead of a iTunes Card.

Apple could have avoided this mess if they had created a system where you can buy just one type of card, maybe call it the "Apple Card" and with that Apple Card, you could buy stuff from the App Store, iTunes Store or iBooks Store without having to buy separate gift card…
