Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Review: The best alternative to the Microsoft Surface

When Microsoft first introduced the Surface in 2012, it would introduce the world to the 2-in-1 hybrid computer, where the main computer is a tablet and is accompanied by the detachable keyboard. But these types of devices didn’t become more mainstream until late 2013 when more came on to the market. All the computer OEMs have tried to emulate the success that Microsoft has seen with their Surface lineup and the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is a good alternative for those looking at the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S for a few weeks now and it’s one of my favourite Windows 10 tablets to use even if there are some minor annoyances.Normally in my product reviews, I would cover design & hardware, software and camera but for this TabPro S review, I won’t be covering the camera as much because let’s face it, cameras on tablets aren’t as great as a smartphone camera or a dedicated camera like a DSLR.Design & HardwareThe most prominent  feature of the T…

Spotify’s Premium for Family plan has been around for some time now and back in May, they dropped the price down to $14.99 per month (partly to compete with Apple Music and Google Play Music All-Access family plans). For $14.99 CAD per month, it will allow you to have six individual accounts with all the features the standard Spotify Premium plan includes (such as save and play music offline on up to three devices per Premium account, play any song, any time on any device and there’s no ads). All the accounts will be on one monthly bill for the entire family. Moto G4 Play Review: The year’s best budget phone

With the Moto G family, Moto has created a lineup of great Android devices that don’t break that bank. And the Moto G4 Play is no exception. After using the Moto G4 Play for a weeks now, I would have to say, if you are looking for one of the best budget Android phones, then look no further than the Moto G4 Play.In this review, I will cover the following areas:Design & Hardware (hardware and specs)Software (all about that Android)Camera (a picture is worth a thousand words right?)Design & HardwareThe Moto G4 Play has a plastic body that is expected of a budget device. It also has a nano-coating so it can protect it from normal water damage (don’t try and take the Moto G4 Play in the pool). The back of the device has a nice texture to it that feels nice in the hands and it adds more grip. The Moto G4 Play has a 2800mAh removable battery and it easily lasts all day.The stand-by time on the Moto G4 Play is great and I’ve left the phone off the charger on my desk and it has lasted ab…

TheCanadianTechie: Four years later

It’s hard to believe that is has only been four short years since I started TheCanadianTechie. It seemed like just yesterday that it was just idea in my head and now it’s a reality.TheCanadianTechie first started on Google’s Blogger platform: TheCanadianTechie (old site) and the blog is still up right now. Then in April 2014, is when I moved over to the WordPress platform (which is what most websites on the web use). This is what TheCanadianTechie used to look like, not too long ago. Then in March 2016, is when I introduced a new logo for TheCanadianTechie, which you can see below. Then a few months later, in June 2016, I introduced TheCanadianTechie 2.0 which brought along a new site design which makes everything cleaner and easier to read.Anyway, it’s been a great four years so far for TheCanadianTechie and I can’t way for many more years to come.
